ISO 9001:2K Delta Training

The purpose of this course is to provide auditors, quality managers, and business team leaders with knowledge and understanding of principles and practices of auditing quality management systems to ISO 9001:2000. The course clearly contrasts the differences in requirements between ISO 9001: 1994 and ISO 9001:2000, relates the Eight Quality Management Principles to ISO 9001, and interprets the concepts and terminolgoy of the new standard. The training promotes the process approach for planning and conducting audits. The course is based on the final published ISO 9001-2000 International Standard. The class will take approximately 8 hours and upon successful completion a certificate for .8 CEUs will be issued. The subscription length is 90 days.

This online training course ISO 9001:2K Delta Training (Part I) and the ISO 9001 Individual Studies course (Part II) were approved as a "pair" by the Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) for ISO 9001:2000 transition training for RAB-certified QMS auditors, during the transition period, which ended December 15, 2003. Taken together the two online courses covered all the transition training objectives set by the RAB National Accreditation Program (NAP) and IATCA. The certificate (for parts I and II) display the RAB, IATCA and IACET approvals.

Learning Objective:
Upon the completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe ISO 9001:2000 quality management system requirements
  • Upgrade an existing quality management system to meet ISO 9001:2000 requirements
  • Recognize the concept of the process approach/process model
  • Differentiate between the purpose and intent of the 1994 and 2000 standards
  • Recognize the concept of a consistent pair of standards
  • Given an example, clarify the concept of permissible exclusions and application of ISO 9001
  • Given a situation, identify the appropriate ISO requirement
  • Apply process techniques to auditing
  • Describe the new terminology of the standard

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:
J.P. Russell
is owner of JP Russell and Associates (www.JPR@JP-Russell.com) and Director of Operations for QualityWBT Center for Education (www.QualityWBT.com). Mr. Russell is an ASQ Fellow, an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, and former RAB QMS Lead Auditor. He is a member of ASQ, Institute of Internal Auditors, Standards Engineering Society, US TAG TC176 and Secretary of TG 9001-9004. Mr. Russell has been a speaker at several national conferences and regional organizational meetings and is an ASQ qualified instructor.
