ISO/TS 16949 Introduction and ISO 9001:2K Transition Worksheet

This course introduces you to ISO/TS 16949:2002 and is a project guide for transitioning from ISO 9001:2000 quality management systems. The course is designed for personnel who need to understand the scope of the new requirements in TS 16949, are members of a team for transitioning from ISO 9001:2000 or are developing a TS 16949 quality management system for the first time. The class features a conversion from ISO 9001:2000 to ISO/TS 16949 worksheet to be used for transition project planning. Other deliverables include: A PowerPoint slide presentation that follows the class, ISO 9001:2000 Checklist, and printable desk reference that includes all text. The PowerPoint slides can be used to present the overview portion of the class to others. The class consists of a series of lessons, illustrations, diagrams, interactive exercises and quizzes. The course should take approximately 5 hours to complete. You will be awarded 0.5 CEUs upon successful completion of the course.

Upon the completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the elements of an ISO/TS 16949 quality management system
  • Discuss benefits of registration to ISO/TS 16949
  • Describe the process approach and process-based quality management system
  • Identify requirements not found in the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard
  • Explain the new terminology of the standards

Elizabeth Bild
is a management consultant and trainer who specializes in quality management systems.  She has developed training courses for SPC, ISO 9000, and TS/ISO 16949. She currently consults on ISO 9001, TS/ISO 16949 and SAE AS9100.  She has had over 30 years in business in quality management and supervision.  She has a BS and an MS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.
